Star Chinese Movies

Star Chinese MoviesSTAR Chinese Movies is a Chinese movie channel. It features Chinese films with Chinese stars including Jacky Chan, Chow Yun Fat, Michelle Yeoh, Andy Lau, Sammi Cheng and Stephen Chow. There are currently three feeds of this channel: STAR Chinese Movies (broadcast in Cantonese and exclusively for Hong Kong audiences), STAR Chinese Movies (broadcast in Mandarin and is available for other Asian countries such as the Philippines and Singapore) and STAR Mandarin Movies (broadcast in Mandarin and exclusively for Taiwan audiences).

PBO

Pinoy Box OfficeAs the pioneer in the 24-hour all-Filipino movie channel on cable TV (through the Viva Cinema formerly tie-up with STAR TV a Hong Kong based satellite broadcasting network, which is now retrieved last February 2009), Viva tied up with interested local and global cable TV partners in need of access to its local content library. Viva's library of titles provides an excellent bridgeway into endless hours of viewing enjoyment for the local & international Filipino viewers anywhere in the globe.

Launched last August 2003, is Pinoy Box Office (PBO), Viva's new 24-hour all Filipino movie & entertainment channel. PBO is now distributed throughout the Philippines, as well as in the U.S. (through the Mabuhay Channel), the Middle East, Asia (Japan) and soon in Europe.

Cinemax

CinemaxCinemax is a collection of cable television networks that provide movies, special features, erotica, and other services to consumers. Max is operated by Home Box Office, Inc. Movie classics were a mainstay of the channel at its birth, "all uncut and commercial-free" as Culp would say. A heavy schedule of films from the 1950s to the 1970s made up most of Cinemax's program schedule.

Fox News

Fox NewsFox News Channel (FNC), commonly referred to as Fox News or Fox, is a cable and satellite television news channel owned by the Fox Entertainment Group, a subsidiary of News Corporation. As of April 2009, it is available to 102 million households in the United States and further to viewers internationally, broadcasting primarily out of its New York City studios.

The channel was created by Australian-American media mogul Rupert Murdoch, who hired former NBC executive Roger Ailes as the founding CEO. The channel was launched on October 7, 1996 to 17 million cable subscribers. The channel grew in the late 1990s and 2000s to become the dominant cable news network in the United States.Fox News finished the first quarter of 2009 as the second-most-watched cable network in primetime, behind USA Network.

Some critics have asserted that Fox News Channel promotes conservative political positions. Fox News Channel says that its political commentary and news reporting operate independently of each other and denies any bias in its news reporting.

Basketball TV (BTV)

Basketball TV (BTV)Basketball TV (BTV) is a 24-hour all-basketball cable channel in the Philippines owned by the Solar Entertainment Corporation. It was launched in October 1, 2006, rebranding the Sports Plus channel. The channel focuses more on showing NBA TV related programs and also regular NBA games once the season begins. In its initial broadcasts, it has been showing re-runs of the 2006 NCAA Men's Division I Basketball Tournament and the 2006 FIBA World Championship.

Star Sports

Star SportsSTAR Sports is a cable sports network owned by STAR TV and ESPN. It shows sports programs. In partnership with ESPN, its corporate name is ESPN STAR Sports. They are the official Asian station of the Barclays Premier League. It is available in Philippines, Hong Kong, Indonesia, Bangladesh, Thailand, Pakistan, India, Malaysia, Singapore, Vietnam and other Asian territories.

On 1 January 2007, the logo was changed at 12:00 midnight, its design similar to those of STAR World and STAR Movies.

Solar Sports

Solar SportsSolar Entertainment Corporation which also created its sister stations, Solar TV, ETC, 2nd Avenue, Jack TV, & Basketball TV, Solar Sports or the Solar Sports Network is a Philippine sports channel owned by Solar Entertainment Corporation. The channel was launched in 2002 and is available for G Sat, Cablelink and various minor cable subscribers. It is also available on Global Destiny Cable. Dream Satellite TV ceased operation as of February 2009. Starting June 1, 2010 Solar Sports will now return on SkyCable.

Disney Channel

Disney ChannelDisney Channel is an American cable television channel specializing in television programming for children through original series and movies as well as third party programming. It is marketed to mostly children; however, in recent years the diversity of viewers has increased with an older audience. Presently available on basic cable and satellite television, the network is part of Disney-ABC Cable Networks Group, a division of The Walt Disney Company.

Disney Junior

Disney PlayhouseDisney Junior is an American programming block airing on Disney Channel and will be an American basic cable and satellite television network intended to replace SOAPnet in Spring 2012. It began airing on February 14, 2011, replacing Playhouse Disney. It is a 24-hour commercial-free television channel for younger kids.

Cartoon NetworkSolar Entertainment Corporation which also created its sister stations, Solar TV, ETC, 2nd Avenue, Jack TV, & Basketball TV, Solar Sports or the Solar Sports Network is a Philippine sports channel owned by Solar Entertainment Corporation. The channel was launched in 2002 and is available for G Sat, Cablelink and various minor cable subscribers. It is also available on Global Destiny Cable. Dream Satellite TV ceased operation as of February 2009. Starting June 1, 2010 Solar Sports will now return on SkyCable.

AXN

AXNAXN is a pay-TV, cable and satellite TV channel owned by Sony Pictures Entertainment, which was first launched on September 21, 1997. Funded through advertising, AXN delivers 24 hours a day of action TV series, movies, animations and adventure-reality and lifestyle sports programmes. In the U.S., AXN is used as a brand name for the streaming of Sony's television library on streaming service Joost.

Star World

Star WorldSTAR World is an Asian English language cable and satellite television owned by STAR TV. The channel is the successor of STAR plus, which is now an Indian Hindi language entertainment channel. Star World syndicates several popular shows from the United States and United Kingdom to appeal to the English-speaking population of the India, Middle East, the Philippines and Southeast Asia.

Jack TV

Jack TVJack TV is a Philippine cable TV network owned by Solar Entertainment Corporation, test launched on May 2005, officially debuting on July 12, 2005. It offers comedy, animation, sports entertainment, drama series and reality shows. All cable companies in the provinces can put the channel without having to worry about exclusive rights.

Entertainment Central

Entertainment Central (ETC)ETC Entertainment Central is a Philippine television channel produced and founded by Solar Entertainment Corporation which also created its sister stations, Solar TV, Universal Channel, Diva Universal, 2nd Avenue, Jack TV, Basketball TV, & Solar Sports. It is currently available over the Philippine FREE-TV after it had been pulled out from the cable TV, although it is still being aired via SkyCable & Global Destiny Cable channel 14, G Sat TV channel 4, Cablelink 12, Smart myTV and other affiliate cable companies in the Philippines.

It features talk shows, dating shows, sitcoms, drama series, reality shows and entertainment news from the United States. ETC sponsors other events, particularly parties around the Metro Manila area . These events are previously seen on Rated Oh!, They also promote upcoming movies.

As of January 1, 2008 ETC ceased to air over SkyCable as a channel on its own right. However, as part of block-time agreements with various terrestrial channels, ETC carries some of its programs over SBN 21, a terrestrial UHF TV Station in Metro Manila and selected cities in the Philippines. By March 2, 2011, ETC will move to RPN while SBN 21 changes to Talk TV.

2nd Avenue

2nd Avenue2nd Avenue (formerly ETC 2nd Avenue) is a Philippine cable television produced and founded by Solar Entertainment Corporation which also created its sister stations, Universal Channel, Talk TV, Diva Universal, ETC, Jack TV, Basketball TV, & Solar Sports. It carries a schedule of mostly newer broadcast and cable dramas and sitcoms imported from the United States, along with infotainment programming from that country in the daytime hours.

As of January 1, 2008, 2nd Avenue ceased to air over SkyCable. However, it is still available over RJTV 29 (Channel 19 on SkyCable, Channel 29 on Global Destiny Cable and Channel 6 on G Sat Satellite TV). Dream Satellite TV had stopped airing the channel effective February 2009. 2nd Avenue returned on Dream Satellte TV on channel 21 effective May 1, 2009.

History Channel

Animal Planet

Animal PlanetAnimal Planet is an American satellite and cable television channel, launched on June 1, 1996 and distributed by Discovery Communications. The channel's broadcasts are mainly documentaries about animals. A high-definition simulcast of the channel launched September 1, 2007.

Discovery Channel

Discovery ChannelDiscovery Channel is an American satellite and cable TV channel, founded by John Hendricks and distributed by Discovery Communications. It provides documentary programming focused primarily on popular science, technology, and history. In the U.S., the programming for the main Discovery network is primarily focused on "reality-based" television themes, such as speculative investigation, automobiles, and occupations; it also features documentaries specifically aimed at families and younger audiences. It also best known for its annual Shark Week.

Discovery Travel & Living

Discovery Travel & LivingDiscovery Travel & Living is a channel brand from Discovery Communications. This name is used in countries of Europe, Latin America and Asia. In other parts of the world the channel is known as "Travel Channel". It features travel shows rather than the documentaries on Discovery Science.

Discovery Travel & Living was launched as Discovery Travel & Adventure. In early 2005 it was repositioned and rebranded as Discovery Travel & Living as a part of a "lifestyle" package from Discovery Communications, also including Discovery Home & Health and Discovery Real Time.

Discovery Travel & Living recently announced they are going to Sky Network Television and Freeview service in the near future.

Starting in Norway in March 2010, Discovery Networks are rolling out the TLC brand internationally. The rollout of TLC has mostly been based on the Discovery Travel & Living channels.

National Geographic Channel

Fashion TVLifestyle Network is a Direct-to-Home lifestyle & entertainment cable channel owned by ABS-CBN Corporation. The channel was launched on July 11, 1999 and initially aired from 6:00 a.m. to 12:00 a.m., but since March 15, 2008, the schedule has been extended to a 24-hour broadcast.

MBC Munhwa Broadcasting Corporation (MBC)

ArirangMBC Munhwa Broadcasting Corporation (MBC) is one of four major national South Korean television and radio networks. It is particularly famous for its dramas and comedies. Munhwa is the Korean word for "culture". The network evolved from Busan Munhwa Broadcasting Corporation, the first private broadcasting corporation in South Korea.
